In a speech in support of abortion access on the 50-year anniversary of Roe v. Wade, Vice President Kamala Harris quoted the Declaration of Independence, but failed to mention the right to life that it guarantees. In doing so, she not only ignored a key point of the Declaration of Independence, but also the rights of unborn children.
It’s deeply troubling that the Vice President of the United States of America is actively promoting abortion, a practice that ends the lives of innocent children. This is particularly concerning given that the current administration is led by Democrats, a party that claims to support human rights, yet is willing to ignore the rights of unborn children.
The Declaration of Independence states that Americans are endowed with the right to “Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness,” yet Harris chose to focus on the right to liberty and the pursuit of happiness, while leaving out the right to life. This is deeply troubling and speaks to the hypocrisy of the Democratic party.
Harris also addressed the suggestion of a federal abortion ban from some GOP lawmakers. Last fall, South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham (R) introduced a bill to ban abortions nationwide at 15 weeks of pregnancy. Harris spoke out against this, saying that the right of women to make decisions about her own body is on the line, and asking, “How dare they!”
It’s ironic that Harris is speaking out against a ban on late-term abortions, which would save the lives of thousands of unborn children. And it’s hypocritical for her to suggest that the Republican party is attacking the foundations of freedom, when it is the Democratic party that is pushing for the right to end the lives of unborn children.
The fact that Harris and the Democratic party are so willing to ignore the right to life speaks volumes about their priorities and the lack of value they place on human life. It’s disturbing that they are willing to ignore the right to life in order to promote abortion access.
Ultimately, this is a clear example of how the Democratic party is willing to ignore the rights of unborn children in order to promote their own political agenda. This should be deeply concerning for all Americans, regardless of their political beliefs.
