The liberal-biased media has been trying to push an agenda that abortion is somehow a positive thing for women – and they’ve been doing this for decades.
The most recent example of this is MSNBC’s Joy Reid, who hosted conservative commentator and State Financial Officers Foundation Fellow Carrie Sheffield on her show in order to debate the recent US appeals court decision which suspended the Food and Drug Administration’s approval of the abortion pill mifepristone.
Despite her past history with conservative guests, Reid was actually civil to Sheffield and allowed her to explain her point of view.
Unfortunately for Reid, basic biology and history were not her strong suit, as Reid disputed the fact that life begins at conception – a fact which is backed up by over 90 percent of scientists who agree that immediately at conception there’s a human life.
Reid attempted to deny this reality simply because a conservative said it. “No, I don’t think over 90 percent of scientists believe that,” Reid falsely claimed.
She then went on to make the bizarre statement that “abortion was not illegal until the quickening,” as if that somehow negated the scientific consensus that life begins at conception.
Reid was then asked if she wanted abortion to be illegal in the entire country. She deflected from this uncomfortable truth by claiming “The vast majority of women, are not eugenicists. Most people probably don’t even know who Margaret Sanger is. Most women just want control of their own bodies.”
This statement is absurd, as the racist roots of abortion and Planned Parenthood are indisputable. Margaret Sanger was a woman who believed in eugenics and the purification of the race, and wanted certain women to not reproduce.
This legacy is deeply problematic and sadly continues to live on, as over 20 million black babies have been aborted since Roe v. Wade legalized abortion nationwide in 1973.
When Sheffield brought those facts up to Reid she was visibly shaken but quickly rushed to change subjects.
Science is clear – life begins at conception. Every abortion is the murder of innocent human life, and that is something the pro-aborts like Reid either don’t know or don’t care about. The liberal-biased media needs to stop pushing an agenda that abortion is
