Joe Biden has been spouting off false information and making ridiculous claims, but this one takes the cake. In an attempt to tackle gun violence and push for gun control, he falsely claimed it’s illegal to own a flamethrower.
Ironically, the nets don’t want to fact-check ole Joe.
For starters, Biden is a self-proclaimed “Second Amendment guy,” and yet he’s calling for action against “weapons of war.” What Biden fails to understand is that the Second Amendment grants citizens the right to bear arms and defend themselves.
Furthermore, it’s important to acknowledge the fact that flamethrowers are not considered to be firearms by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms. In fact, they’re only illegal in Maryland and require a permit in California.
Biden’s administration also said that staying away from partisan politics after the Covenant School shooting is impossible.
While it’s understandable why Biden’s team would want to take steps to prevent future tragedies like this one, it’s wrong to force gun control measures on law-abiding citizens.
The truth is, it’s not guns that are the problem; it’s the people who misuse them. It’s the people who don’t follow the laws, who don’t respect the rights of others, and who perpetrate violence.
It’s these people who need to be held accountable, not innocent gun owners.
And guess what? Criminals aren’t going to abide by gun laws so banning lawful gun owners from arming themself only hurts the innocent.
Watching Biden continually push to ban guns when he so clearly has no idea what he’s talking about pretty much sums up his entire presidency.
In short, Biden’s attempt to tackle the gun violence crisis by falsely claiming it’s illegal to own a flamethrower is misguided and wrong—As usual.
Folks, this horrific tragedy shouldn’t be used as a political tool by either side, period.
It’s important to remember that the Second Amendment was created to protect citizens from tyranny, not to take away our rights. We must support law-abiding gun owners and fight for our constitutional rights.
