The recent news of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) raiding the home of journalist Matt Taibbi is a prime example of the Big Tech and Democrats working together to silence conservatives. On March 9, 2021, the very same day Taibbi testified before the House Judiciary Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, federal agents were sent to his house in New Jersey.
In response, Representative Jim Jordan (R., Ohio) sent a letter to Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and IRS Commissioner Daniel Werfel demanding an explanation for the federal agency’s raid.
According to the letter, Taibbi was instructed by the IRS to phone the federal agency four days later and was later told that both his 2018 and 2021 tax filings were requested due to “concerns over identity theft.”
The raid occurred amidst Taibbi’s appearance before the Select Subcommittee, where he was interviewed by Democrats Stacey Plaskett (D., Virgin Islands) and Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D., Fl.).
Plaskett referred to Taibbi as a “so-called journalist” and repeatedly insisted that there was no “real evidence” publicized in the Twitter Files showing coordination between the federal government and the social-media platform. Wasserman Schultz also questioned Taibbi’s objectivity as a conservative witness.
The Twitter Files, which Taibbi recently released, revealed that the social-media company had established a “Censorship-Industrial Complex” whereby agencies such as the FBI and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and NGOs including the Atlantic Council and National Endowment for Democracy regularly consulted with the social-media platform in an effort to censor or downplay posts they found objectionable.
8. But the bulk of censorship requests didn’t come from government directly.

This incident is just one example of the Big Tech and Democrats working together to silence conservatives. From the IRS raid on Taibbi to the censorship of conservative voices on social media, it’s clear that the government and Big Tech are working together to silence dissenting voices. This is a blatant violation of freedom of speech and needs to be addressed.
It’s time for the government to step up and protect the civil liberties of all citizens, regardless of their political beliefs. If the government fails to act, then the American people will have to take matters into their own hands and fight back against this type of government abuse and Big Tech censorship.
