Bobby Pulido, a Tejano music star turned congressional candidate, faces scrutiny over years of social media posts that reference explicit adult material while he campaigns for a U.S. House seat. His online history stretches from 2013 through 2024 and includes posts, reposts, and images that opponents say are politically damaging as he seeks to broaden his appeal. This article tracks the claims, the reactions from both parties, and how Pulido has tried to manage his public image amid a competitive race. The debate raises questions about personal conduct, campaigning, and what voters expect from a representative.

Pulido’s social media footprint contains repeated references to adult websites, links, and remarks that have remained visible despite a recent cleanup of his profiles. Posts span a decade and show a pattern of sharing or commenting on explicit content rather than focused policy messaging. That history now follows him into a district fight where character and optics matter as much as policy positions.

In 2013 Pulido encouraged followers to check certain adult sites and drew attention to adult clips that used musicians’ work, prompting questions about royalties and rights. In that post he to visit pornographic website YouPorn if bored and to porn sites featuring the music of fellow musicians, asking them if they’re receiving royalties for being featured. The tone was casual, mixing industry frustration with off-color direction to fans, and it’s part of what critics point to as irresponsible online behavior.

Later that same year he shared content again, writing a caption that read “homemade porn while sleep-deprived?” alongside an attached post. That specific line has been preserved in the record and continues to be cited by detractors as evidence of poor judgment. Small posts like these can stick around indefinitely, even when candidates try to shift the conversation to policy or family issues.

LATINO TEXAS DEM CONGRESSIONAL CANDIDATE CALLS OUT AOC FOR HER USE OF TERM ‘LATINX’

By 2015 Pulido reportedly removed a link he had shared to YouPorn and claimed his account had been hacked in response to the backlash. He also said, verbatim, “It’s impossible to have Twitter and not watch porn,” and that line remains part of the public record tied to his social feeds. His defenders argue the comments were flippant or taken out of context, while critics call them disqualifying for someone running for public office.

“To everyone crying over the shutdown of XVideos, I’m telling you there are other free sites. I mean, that’s what they’ve told me. #you’rewelcome,” Pulido wrote in a

TEXAS DEMOCRAT — A LATIN GRAMMY WINNER AND PARTY RECRUIT — CAUGHT DEFACING TRUMP’S HOLLYWOOD STAR

Pulido is challenging Rep. Monica De La Cruz in a district made slightly more competitive by recent redistricting, and his online history is part of the political narrative being used against him. The seat has attracted national attention because it represents one of the better pickup opportunities for Democrats in the state, and contrasting images of a performer versus a legislator are in play. Voters will weigh his celebrity and cultural ties against opponents’ critiques about temperament and judgment.

Democratic operatives had actively encouraged Pulido to run and see him as a candidate who can connect with South Texas voters on identity and culture. Meanwhile, the National Republican Congressional Committee slammed his past posts and issued a sharp statement, saying, “Radical Bobby Pulido is unhinged and unfit to serve in Congress.” The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee declined to provide a public comment when asked about his recruitment and strategy.

Pulido’s background is firmly rooted in music; he’s known for Tejano favorites like “Desvelado” and “Se Murió de Amor,” and he has earned multiple Latin Grammy nominations. He took home the award for Best Tejano Album in 2022 and again in 2025, accolades that bolstered his profile beyond South Texas. His artistic success is part of why party leaders viewed him as a compelling candidate to contest the district.

Since entering the race Pulido has tried to recast himself as a family-focused, bipartisan figure and has removed many posts that highlighted his political stances or controversial moments. He even scrubbed images tied to past incidents, including a widely discussed photo that critics said showed disrespect toward a public figure’s Hollywood honor. The effort to sanitize his online presence reflects a broader campaign pivot from entertainer to serious candidate.

“You may know me as Bobby Pulido the singer,” Pulido said in his campaign launch video. “I am José Roberto Pulido Jr., the son of a migrant farmworker and 100% South Texas Tejano. Let me tell you. I won’t stand by and watch the South Texas that raised me be torn down and divided.”

Despite the cleanup, many posts referencing adult material remain visible and a few explicit images have not been fully removed, according to observers monitoring his profiles. Pulido has denied taking part in adult productions himself, but he has acknowledged reposting fan-created content that used his music in explicit contexts. In one instance as recently as 2024 he posted a photo of a fan in a compromising position at a concert and initially left it up amid controversy.

Pulido’s campaign did not respond to multiple requests for comment about the older posts and the remaining images. As the campaign unfolds, voters will decide whether his record as an entertainer and community figure outweighs the baggage of a decade of provocative social posts. The contest promises to be a test of how digital history and real-world politics collide in a close district.
