Congressional Democrats have strongly defended the FBI’s decision to deny a subpoena demanding access to an informant file linking President Joe Biden with a $5 million bribery scheme.

Tuesday is the deadline for FBI Director Christopher Wray to deliver this unclassified document, which records an interview between the bureau and the informant.

Although Justice Department officials did not refute its existence, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) threatened to cite the FBI with contempt if they fail to do so.

In response, Ranking Member Jamie Raskin (D-MD) of the committee expressed disbelief at Comer’s “mountain out of a molehill” approach in his conversation with Punchbowl News.

He argued that it was “preposterous” for Comer to hold Wray accountable for declining to hand over this tip sheet that someone supposedly submitted to them.

Meanwhile, fellow committee member Gerry Connolly (D-VA) went one step further by labeling this effort as an “assault on the FBI” initiated by former President Donald Trump’s hatred towards them.

On the other hand, Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), another Republican on the Oversight Committee who spoke exclusively with Breitbart News Thursday, sees things differently from her Democratic colleagues.

She described how this document contains evidence of Joe Biden receiving money from foreign nationals in exchange for policy decisions while he was still Vice President—concluding that it is indeed part of a large pay-to-play scheme.

Additionally, Comer emphasized that their denial of access is obstructionist and provided additional terms based on legally protected whistleblower disclosures such as June 30th, 2020, and five million dollars when issuing his statement about all these events taking place.

The Bureau issued its own defense against these allegations explaining how releasing confidential source information could possibly endanger lives and investigations going forward, however, stated its commitment to cooperating with Congress’ requests regarding oversight matters.

This comes after Comer sought out through an investigation earlier in March about three family members connected to Biden who received $1.3 million wired from a Chinese energy company two months after he left office as VP before discovering how nine family members acquired at least $10 million through Romania and China business deals in what seemed like influence peddling later on May—all according to him anyway.

The lack of transparency behind these supposed misdeeds has sparked much outrage amongst Republicans who believe they are being safeguarded due to their status as well as those who feel that justice should be served no matter one’s rank or power within society regardless if you are the president or a regular citizen.
