On Thursday, former President Donald Trump was indicted by a Manhattan grand jury, prompting mixed reactions from political pundits. Vince Coglianese, the Editorial Director at the Daily Caller, described the indictment as an “exercise in election meddling” on Fox News’ “Special Report with Bret Baier.”
It’s no secret that the left is trying to pin the blame of their own corruption on the former president. They’re doing this by attempting to elevate Trump’s status with a “mug shot”, and using him as the focus of former President Joe Biden’s 2024 campaign.
This is a clear indication that Biden doesn’t have a good message to run on and is using Trump as a scapegoat in order to gain votes.
This move by the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office is a clear abuse of justice and puts the country in a bad place. It’s a last-ditch effort to hold Trump accountable for something he has already been cleared of in the past. The Federal Election Commission cleared Trump of any wrongdoing in 2019 and again in 2021, so why is the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office trying to make him out to be a criminal?
Trump reacted to his indictment by slamming Bragg for his “obsession” with trying to “get Trump” and warned that the move to charge a former president of the United States will “backfire.” It’s clear that the political establishment is going out of its way to try and criminalize the former president in order to distract from their own corruption.
The left would be better served focusing on the issues that matter to the average American citizen, rather than trying to criminalize a former president in order to gain votes. The people of the United States deserve better than this type of political corruption and manipulation. The attempt to criminalize Trump is a desperate and shameful move that should be roundly condemned.
