Not that anyone needed another reason to be disgusted with the current administration but—Since Biden killed the border wall project we now have more than $100 million worth of border wall materials just rusting away in the Texas sun. Biden announced last week that he was permanently terminating border wall construction which left many wondering what the plans are for all the unused border wall material.
According to Fox News reporter Bill Melugin, all of those materials which have already been paid for using taxpayer’s funds are just rotting away. Melugin shared drone footage of the rusted wall pannels which have been just sitting in several locations around Texas since January—Wasting away.
Melugin shared drone footage of the sites where millions of taxpayers dollars are just wasting away in the sun on his Twitter account:
“NEW: What does it look like to not build the border wall? Our drone is overhead in Pharr, TX at one location where steel for the border wall has been baking in the sun & going to waste since January. Tens of millions of dollars worth of steel here already paid for.”

“Keep in mind, taxpayers have already paid for this,” Melugin said on “America’s Newsroom.
“It’s bought and paid for and nothing is happening with it.”
Melugin and his crew provided images of the border wall that ends abruptly in La Joya, Texas. He said only half a mile was constructed, leaving the rest of the town’s border open and allowing migrants to cross freely.
“Basically, it’s useless,” he said. “We watch these migrants just walk around it all the time. It’s not doing anything, and the border agents out here are having to run around left and right as runners are constantly coming through.”
The materials, which have already been paid for, were intended to cover about 100 miles of the southern border. Reports show that only about 14 miles were built before Biden stepped in and killed the project.
The unspent cash that Congress allocated for wall construction will be spent on environmental projects — including “biological, cultural, and natural resource surveys” in the border region — instead, according to the statement.
The announcement came only a week after DHS said it was bracing for up to 400,000 border apprehensions this month alone.
Republicans roundly ripped the move.
“Leave it to Biden and his team to cancel border contracts for ‘environmental reasons’ when we have a 21-year high of illegal crossers,” Oklahoma Sen. James Lankford tweeted. “It is obvious that they do not want to stop illegal immigration.”
