A photo surfaced on Monday morning showing failed Trump assassin Ryan Routh alongside Democrat megadonor and celebrity chef José Andrés.
In the image, Andrés is seen with his arm around Routh, pointing at him. The photo appears to have been taken in Kiev, Ukraine.
José Andrés, known for his criticism of Donald Trump, owns several high-profile restaurants in Washington, D.C., and other cities.
Earlier this year, top Democrats, including Nancy Pelosi, praised Andrés for his work.
He is a frequent financial supporter of Democratic politicians, contributing to the campaigns of Pelosi, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and others.
Andrés also founded the World Central Kitchen, a charity providing food aid to areas in crisis, including Palestinians in Gaza.
After several World Central Kitchen aid workers were killed in an airstrike this year, Andrés organized a memorial service at Washington’s National Cathedral, where readings from the Islamic Hadith and Quran were featured.
Additionally, Andrés serves on the board of GOOD Meat, a company advancing artificial meat production.
He has lobbied the U.S. Department of Agriculture for final approval of GOOD Meat’s products, which are expected to be featured in one of his D.C. restaurants.
The tension between Trump and Andrés dates back nearly a decade to a contract dispute.
Andrés withdrew from an agreement to open a restaurant in the then-Trump Hotel in Washington, D.C., following Trump’s remarks about illegal immigration from Mexico.
The Trump Organization sued Andrés, but the case was settled in 2017.
After Trump sold the hotel, Andrés opened a location of his restaurant ‘The Bazaar’ in the building, which is now reportedly struggling.
