President Donald Trump has taken decisive action to dismantle wasteful, biased, and un-American government-funded media outlets, signing an executive order that shuts down the bloated and corrupt United States Agency for Global Media (USAGM) and its controversial subsidiary, Voice of America (VOA). This bold move is a long-overdue step toward restoring journalistic integrity, cutting government waste, and eliminating taxpayer-funded propaganda that has actively undermined American values for years.

For decades, Voice of America has operated as little more than a megaphone for globalist interests and left-wing narratives, often promoting anti-American propaganda at the expense of taxpayers. A senior White House official made it clear: “Voice of America has been out of step with America for years.” Rather than serving as a beacon of truth, the agency has been weaponized to push partisan narratives and mislead the public.

The Trump administration’s executive order slashes non-essential components of these agencies, ensuring they no longer operate as a tool for unelected bureaucrats to manipulate public opinion. President Trump’s directive is crystal clear: dismantle all non-statutory functions and reduce these agencies to their bare legal minimum, preventing them from being used as instruments of disinformation ever again.

Kari Lake, a fearless advocate for truth and the current head of VOA, did not mince words, calling the agency “unsalvageable” and issuing immediate termination notices to employees who for too long have been allowed to spend taxpayer dollars promoting leftist propaganda. In an internal memo, Lake urged employees to check their emails for updates on their job status—a clear sign that accountability is finally being restored in Washington.

In a strongly worded statement, USAGM officials acknowledged that the agency had become “a giant rot and burden to the American taxpayer.” While there were some dedicated employees, they were the exception, not the rule. The reality was clear—this agency had lost its way, abandoned its mission, and turned into a taxpayer-funded misinformation machine that had no place in an America-first government.

This crackdown wasn’t limited to just USAGM and VOA. Trump’s executive order targeted seven agencies in total, each of which had become a bloated relic of the bureaucratic swamp. Among them were the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, and the Institute of Museum and Library Services—each one a black hole for taxpayer money with little to show for it. These cuts mark a major victory in the ongoing fight to drain the swamp and eliminate the corrupt, wasteful programs that have long served as a breeding ground for bureaucratic excess.

The media meltdown over these cuts was immediate—because they know the game is up. For years, these agencies have operated as a taxpayer-funded extension of the Democratic Party, using public funds to shape narratives, push progressive talking points, and suppress stories that didn’t fit their agenda. The backlash to their closure only confirms what many conservatives have argued all along: these agencies weren’t about news—they were about control.

Recent scandals have further exposed the deeply rooted corruption within these agencies. Just this past January, Voice of America published a grotesquely biased story about Hamas, conveniently omitting key details about how Gazans cheered while parading the coffins of murdered Israeli hostages. This outrageous omission was not an accident—it was intentional censorship designed to whitewash the horrors of terrorism and manipulate public perception.

Congressman Brian Mast, a strong ally of President Trump, called out this disgraceful behavior, declaring: “American taxpayers should not be paying the salaries of Hamas apologists who spout terrorist propaganda.” His words reflect the growing frustration among conservatives who have watched as their hard-earned tax dollars were funneled into propping up a media empire that openly worked against American interests.

Another damning example of VOA’s blatant bias was its recent coverage that appeared to mimic a Biden campaign video, raising serious ethical concerns about whether state-funded media should be engaged in election influence. This shameless behavior only reaffirmed what the administration had already determined—these agencies had abandoned any pretense of neutrality and had become fully integrated into the Democratic Party’s messaging apparatus.

President Trump’s order to dismantle these agencies is not just about cutting waste—it’s about reasserting control over a rogue bureaucracy that has spent decades operating without accountability. The administration’s move aligns with the broader conservative agenda of reducing government overreach, eliminating unnecessary spending, and ensuring that taxpayer dollars serve American interests—not the interests of globalists and far-left ideologues.

Trump supporters rightfully see this decision as a massive win for transparency and efficiency. For far too long, Washington has been flooded with taxpayer-funded agencies that exist only to serve themselves, growing larger and more disconnected from the people they claim to represent. By eliminating these bloated institutions, the Trump administration is ensuring that the federal government works for the American people, not against them.

Of course, predictably, the left is in full meltdown mode. Critics claim that eliminating these agencies will limit America’s ability to conduct public diplomacy, but the reality is these agencies were never about diplomacy—they were about controlling the narrative. The real concern of Trump’s opponents isn’t about losing “information”—it’s about losing control over the propaganda machine they’ve relied on for so long.

This move is part of a much larger battle for the soul of the country. The swamp creatures, entrenched bureaucrats, and left-wing activists who have controlled these agencies never thought they would be held accountable. Now, with Trump back in charge, they are watching in horror as their taxpayer-funded fiefdoms are dismantled piece by piece.

The Trump administration’s decision to move forward with this restructuring is a sign of what’s to come. No more business as usual. No more unchecked corruption. No more taxpayer-funded media pushing leftist propaganda.

The future of state-funded media in America is now rightfully uncertain. This massive shake-up will force a much-needed reckoning over whether the U.S. government should be in the business of funding journalism at all. With Trump at the helm, one thing is certain—the days of unchecked, anti-American propaganda funded by hardworking citizens are coming to an end.

As the dismantling of these agencies continues, the question is no longer whether taxpayer-funded media will change, but how far Trump’s administration will go to ensure that it never again serves as a tool for government-backed disinformation.

America First means American media should serve the people, not the elites. And thanks to President Trump’s decisive action, that mission is finally back on track.
