Since leaving office, President Donald J. Trump has had some remarkable political victories for his ‘America First’ movement in the reshaping of the Republican Party, who did not always support him, establishing the continuing power in the Populist movement that propelled him to President. Now he is headed to North Carolina.

“Trump heading to battleground NC to headline state GOP convention,Trump address will be first outside of his Mar-a-Lago resort since keynote CPAC speech,” Fox News reported Monday morning.

The State Chairman, Michael Whatley, posted a teaser early in the morning:

From Fox article:

EXCLUSIVE: Former President Trump will travel to North Carolina early next month to headline the state Republican Party‘s annual convention.

The North Carolina GOP says the former president will attend its state convention in Greenville on Saturday, June 5 and will speak at the convention dinner. The state party’s Monday morning announcement of the Trump stop in North Carolina was shared first with Fox News.

TRUMP’S APPEARANCE AT CPAC SHOWS THAT THE FORMER PRESIDENT’S GRIP OVER THE GOP REMAINS FIRM

RSBN Reported on the matter:

“Trump will travel to Greenville, North Carolina on Saturday, June 5, to speak at the NCGOP 2021 State Convention. This will mark Trump’s first address outside of his Mar-a-Lago mansion in Florida since Conservative Political Action Committee (CPAC) last February.

Trump will be speaking at a dinner which will be closed to the press.

North Carolina is a crucial swing state that Trump won by over three and a half points against Hillary Clinton in 2016 and by more than one point against Joe Biden in 2020. North Carolina will harbor an open Senate seat in the 2022 midterm elections after incumbent Republican Sen. Richard Burr’s decision to retire.

Trump’s daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, has been named as a potential candidate for the open Senate seat. A poll from The Hill shows her leading with double-digits over a crowded field of Republicans, including former Gov. Pat McCrory and former Lt. Gov. Dan Forest.”

Breitbart covered the story:

Other notable event speakers will be Gov. Kristi Noem, Rep. Dan Bishop (R-NC), Rep. Ted Budd (R-NC), and Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-NC).

Trump’s first appearance after leaving office was at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) on February 28. Nearly seven in ten CPAC attendees indicated in a straw poll vote want to see Trump run for president again in 2024.

The news that Trump will bring in more populist candidates will prove to be a motivation to the state to increase the level of grassroots activism in the battleground state, where the left has established deep Marxist roots.

Democrat Roy Cooper was instrumental in preventing Trump from speaking in the state for the RNC Summer Convention before the 2020 Presidential elections. In a way, this appearance is a victory lap for Trump, who is still very popular in Republican circles there.

Statewise elections and speculation about Senate candidates just got red hot in North Carolina.
