I’ll argue that strong economic growth under President Trump is expanding hiring, explain how policy choices are driving that demand, show why mass illegal border crossings are unnecessary, outline how enforcement and legal immigration work together, and describe what this means for American workers and businesses.

President Trump’s economic momentum has put hiring back on the front burner, and the results are visible in more job openings and renewed confidence among employers. When businesses see predictable tax policy and fewer regulatory roadblocks, they move to expand payrolls rather than wait for a flood of unauthorized labor. That shift matters because it makes clear hiring is a product of policy and investment, not of uncontrolled crossings at the border.

Tax relief and regulatory rollbacks have created an environment where companies can plan for growth and actually act on those plans. Energy production that frees the nation from dependence brings jobs across sectors, and clearer trade terms reduce uncertainty that keeps hiring stalled. Those are the levers that raise demand for workers and encourage firms to train and hire locally instead of relying on irregular flows of labor.

Border security and enforcement are not optional extras in this picture; they are central to a functioning labor market and to national sovereignty. Allowing hundreds of thousands to cross without legal processing undermines wages, strains public services, and rewards lawbreaking over orderly immigration systems. When borders are secure, businesses compete for workers in a predictable market that favors hiring Americans first and investing in domestic talent.

There is room for legal immigration that fills real gaps, but it must be orderly and merit-based so it complements American workers instead of displacing them. Employers can and should use legal channels to recruit skills they genuinely cannot find domestically, while government ensures that temporary or permanent programs do not erode standards or undercut wages. The Republican view is clear: enforce the law, then design legal pathways that support economic needs without inviting chaos.

Wage growth and better benefits flow when employers must compete for a shrinking pool of available workers, pushing companies to upskill, automate where sensible, and invest in on-the-job training. That is a healthier dynamic than a marketplace flooded with unauthorized labor that depresses pay and weakens incentives to develop a long-term American workforce. Policy that prioritizes citizens and lawful residents creates upward pressure on standards and opens real opportunities for veterans, returning workers, and those ready to learn new trades.

Investing in border security and pro-growth economic policy is not a trade-off; it is a strategy to lock in gains and sustain hiring without surrendering control of who enters our country. Business leaders will hire when profit signals are clear and regulations are fair, and conservative governance aims to deliver that clarity while defending the rule of law at our borders. Keep borders secure, keep the economy growing, and make sure American workers get first shot at new jobs—that approach will keep hiring rising for the right reasons.
