Conservatives in Canada want Prime Minister Justin Trudeau held accountable for his comments about the “Freedom Convoy” protesters. Shortly before a maniac plowed his SUV through a protest, Trudeau slammed the protesters as a ‘small fringe minority.’

Friday, a man sped through the protest hitting protesters and injury 4 before speeding away.

Canadian pastor Tobias Tissen posted a video Saturday morning showing a white Jeep slamming into a demonstrator on the street, then rolling over the protestor and speeding away while other protestors attempt to chase the vehicle down. “At the end of the day yesterday in Winnipeg. A provocateur deliberately ran over a protester with his suv and injured 3 others,” Tissen tweeted. “He’s been apprehended. All Day long the crowd of protesters were peaceful, lots of smiles, hugs and laughter. Let’s pray for the injured and the driver.”

Trudeau drew fierce backlash last week for vilifying the “Freedom Convoy” protests as a radical fringe minority shortly after the protests began. “The small, fringe minority of people who are on their way to Ottawa, who are holding unacceptable views that they are expressing, do not represent the views of Canadians who have been there for each other, who know that following the science and stepping up to protect each other is the best way to continue to ensure our freedoms, our rights, our values as a country,” Trudeau said at the time.

The man in custody reportedly ran several red lights after mowing down the protester according to witnesses. Police were forced to chase him down to make the arrest. Their reports now claim that they don’t believe the attack was politically motivated:

“Some comments he made after his arrest suggested that his motivation was not specifically about the underlying causes of the protests or the mandates,” public information officer Constable Rob Carver said in a press statement.
“I think police everywhere, and specifically in Winnipeg, view these situations as potentially volatile. There are strong opinions being expressed … anytime you have a situation like that there’s a potentially for tempers to flare and possibly some violence,” Carver told reporters. “We have done everything we can, or that we are prepared to do at this point to ensure the safety of people in the area.”

The pastor is just one of the thousands of Conservatives in Canada demanding that Trudeau answer for his hate-filled speech against protesters.
