Donna Kelce, the lively 72-year-old mom of Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, recently caused a stir on social media. Her brief Instagram post, which mentioned her son’s famous fiancée, Taylor Swift, got people talking. The mix-up happened because Donna accidentally shared a video from comedian Leanne Morgan, who made some cheeky remarks about Swift wanting to have a baby with Travis.
The video was quickly taken down, but not before it caught the eye of Swift’s devoted fans. Some folks on Reddit were quick to criticize, with comments like, “It’s 2025, can we move on from forcing archaic mindset on women?” Others called the video “disgusting.” It seems like the internet can really jump on things fast these days.
However, many people came to Donna’s defense, blaming Instagram’s tricky interface and her age for the accidental post. One user on X pointed out, “It’s literally not there anymore. She must’ve tapped the wrong button and accepted the collab by mistake.” It’s the kind of thing that could happen to anyone, really.
Morgan, 59, had joked in the video about Swift’s desire to have kids with Travis, saying, “[Swift’s] uterus is aching. I know it is. And she wants a baby. And it’s time for her to want a baby, and she wants to breed with that big old Kelce boy. Of course she does. They’re both tall. I mean, I can see it.” Morgan even celebrated the couple’s engagement, expressing her excitement.
Morgan wasn’t shy about her enthusiasm for the couple, even tagging Donna in her post with a congratulatory message. “Congratulations, girl!!! Wahoo!!!!! Grand babies playing ball AND singing!!!” she wrote. It’s clear Morgan is a big fan of the idea of the couple starting a family.
Representatives for Morgan, Donna Kelce, Travis Kelce, and Swift chose not to comment on the situation. But the engagement of Travis and Swift last month is still the talk of the town. The couple announced their big news with charming engagement photos on Instagram, playfully captioned, “your English teacher and your gym teacher … getting married.”
Travis and Swift’s romance blossomed in the summer of 2023, and Travis had been dropping hints about starting a family on his podcast long before they went public. In February 2023, he joked, “I gotta start breeding. … I’m gonna get kids so that mom can love me again.” It’s a sentiment that many found endearing.
Donna Kelce has always been vocal about wanting her youngest son to find the right partner. She became a grandma in 2019 when her other son, Jason, and his wife Kylie welcomed their first daughter, Wyatt. Since then, the family has grown with three more children: Elliotte, Bennett, and baby Finnley.
Swift, on the other hand, has been outspoken about the public’s obsession with women’s bodies and whether or not they plan to have kids. In June 2024, she posted on Instagram, “Can we all agree that it’s invasive & irresponsible to comment on a woman’s body. Gaga doesn’t owe anyone an explanation & neither does any woman.” Her words resonated with many, highlighting the ongoing conversation about privacy and respect.
