Tiger Woods and Vanessa Trump are reportedly discussing marriage after a year that tested both of them separately. A source told Page Six the couple’s relationship is “stronger than ever” following Woods’ DUI arrest in Florida and Trump’s breast cancer diagnosis and recovery.
Woods was arrested on a DUI charge in March after flipping his Land Rover on Jupiter Island, Florida. Police found two hydrocodone pills on him during a search at the scene. He later traveled to Switzerland for rehab and has since been working to return to competitive golf. In September, he accepted a plea deal that reduced the charge to reckless driving, and Trump stood by him at the related court appearance.
Trump, the ex-wife of Donald Trump Jr., announced in April that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. She revealed this past week, in a video posted to her daughter Kai Trump’s Instagram, that she is now cancer-free.
“They’re very serious about each other and absolutely see a future together,” a source told Page Six. “Marriage is something they’ve talked about, but that doesn’t mean a proposal is necessarily around the corner.”
The source said the two hard years brought the couple closer rather than apart. “Going through difficult times together has brought them closer and shown them that they can count on one another,” the source said. “It’s one thing to enjoy the good times together, but they’ve also seen how the other person handles things when life gets difficult.”
Woods and Trump have “really leaned on each other” through it all, the source added, and the couple celebrated privately once Trump’s cancer-free status was confirmed.
Their families have also grown close. Trump shares five children with Donald Trump Jr., and Woods has a daughter and a son with his ex-wife, Elin Nordergren. Kai Trump, a freshman at the University of Miami and a member of the Hurricanes women’s golf team, has been seen with Woods multiple times this year, though she recently had surgery that will keep her off the course for a while.
“Their families have blended really naturally,” the source continued. “Kai absolutely adores Woods and Trump gets along great with his kids, too. They genuinely enjoy spending time together as a family.”
