The ABC talk show “The View” is no stranger to controversial and lively debates, with the co-hosts often targeting each other. On Friday, Republican Alyssa Farah Griffin made an interesting statement that resulted in a heated exchange between her and her co-hosts.

When discussing President Joe Biden’s 2024 election prospects, Griffin revealed she would not vote for him if he runs again.

Noting that she did not support Donald Trump either, who is presumed by many to be the favorite nominee of the Republican Party should he decide to run again, Griffin has been one of his critics since he left office. Her stance on Trump has endeared her to her fellow co-hosts at The View – until now.

Joy Behar seemed particularly upset about Griffin’s announcement which caused an outburst from several co-hosts as they attacked Griffin for her position on President Biden.

Despite this outburst however, Griffin remained unfazed and defended herself despite the heated atmosphere on set.

JOY BEHAR: Joe Biden! Let me say something about Joe Biden. According to what I’m observing, the economy is booming, inflation is down, the stock market is doing well, people are having an easier time putting bread on the table, et cetera. He doesn’t seem to be getting the credit for that, only 41 percent approval.

Is it because they think he’s old? Because I don’t see anything else they can point to with him particularly.

ALYSSA FARAH GRIFFIN: Well, that’s a question for Democrats.

BEHAR: No, that’s a question for you really –

FARAH GRIFFIN: Why?

BEHAR: because you said you would not vote for Biden.

[Laughter]

SARA HAINES: Well she’s not voting for him anyway.

[Crosstalk]

BEHAR: But you said you would not vote for Biden.

FARAH GRIFFIN: Let me talk about my vote, one vote.

SUNNY HOSTIN: Every vote counts and your vote counts. I’m going to tell you again but I know you don’t want to hear it, writing in a candidate that you know can’t win –

[Crosstalk]

FARAH GRIFFIN: Why is your candidate not doing better with Democrats? That’s who he needs to win and moderates and swing voters.

BEHAR: Because they think he’s old. That’s why!

FARAH GRIFFIN: Oh, well then – [gestures to Behar like she has her answer.]

[Crosstalk]

BEHAR: Listen, I am the same age as Joe Biden!

FARAH GRIFFIN: Joe Biden is not doing poorly because I won’t vote for Joe Biden. Let me just make that abundantly clear.

[Laughter]

[Crosstalk]

ANA NAVARRO: Can I just –

[Crosstalk]

BEHAR: You guys! Oh, it’s just chaos!

NAVARRO: First of all, I don’t think Obama went into the Oval Office and had lunch with Biden to tell him you’re a weak candidate but tell him “don’t take anything for granted.”

[Crosstalk]

NAVARRO: And I think one of the problems Hillary had was that for too long she thought, “Latinos are going to vote against Trump because it’s Trump and African Americans will vote for me because I’m running against Trump.” And what Obama is saying to Biden is, “There’s only one way to run in politics: you run hard and you run scared, and you don’t take any group for granted. And I actually like you, Joe. You were my vice president unlike Trump’s vice president who is running against him.”

They have a great relationship and Obama’s there to say, “I’m here for you whenever you need me.”

HOSTIN: He’s giving him good counsel but we need good Republicans that will vote for their country before they vote for their party! That’s what we need.

Behar was reportedly upset with her colleagues during a recent show for mocking her as they discussed an incident in 2022 where she fell off her chair live on air, the UK’s Daily Mail reported.

In March 2022, Joy had a fall at the start of an episode, and her co-hosts had to help her up as the live studio audience watched in surprise.

Now, 16 months later, Joy wanted to talk about the incident, but it led to a clash with Whoopi, 67, after the head panelist confessed something: “It scared us so badly.”

As Joy attempted to explain that the swivel chair caused her fall, Whoopi and the rest of the panel, including Sara Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin, and guest host Rachel Lindsay, burst into laughter and teased her about her excuse, the outlet reported.

“You act like it’s not true!” Behar protested as her co-hosts continued to giggle.

But in reality, it was Behar who brought up the incident as the panel was discussing what happened to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell earlier in the week.
