It’s no secret that Joe Biden is likely to have a tough fight ahead of him in the 2024 election. I mean, this is the guy who can’t be trusted to remember his own name. This has supporters terrified that he is doomed to lose, and one of his potential opponents, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., is a man that many liberals and Democrats aren’t too happy with.
To make matters worse, Kennedy is polling at 19%, which is a scary thought for many. This week, “The View” co-hosts bashed Kennedy for his opposition to vaccines, and they even called out former President Donald Trump for threatening not to attend any primary debates.
“The media keeps saying he’s the only one, and he’s not! People who are gonna make the decision about who becomes the next president, not those in the media, it’s people sitting here. They’re gonna decide. So if you really think you have something to offer, what you scared of, man?” co-host Whoopi Goldberg said.
“He’s a scaredy cat,” co-host Joy Behar added.
But the conversation quickly shifted to Kennedy and his controversial views. “Robert Kennedy Jr. who now believes that the war in Ukraine is really Ukraine’s fault, he doesn’t believe in vaccinations,” Behar said.
“But Marianne Williamson…Marianne Williamson is the one with the crystals and stuff, right?” co-host Sunny Hostin said. “I don’t think she should debate.”
Behar then went on to claim that Trump will call candidates names and “pull the race card out” during debates. “He’ll blow up all the rules,” co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin added.
This isn’t the first time that Kennedy has been taken to task for his views. ABC News recently censored parts of his April 27 interview for expressing his position on vaccines.
It’s clear that Kennedy is not a popular choice among the liberal and Democratic base. He has some controversial views, and some may find them difficult to defend. But Kennedy is still polling at 19%, and that’s something that should worry Democrats and liberals.
At this point, it’s anyone’s guess who will be the Democratic nominee in 2024, but one thing is certain: Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is a potential contender, and he will have to face a lot of scrutiny if he wants to make it to the White House. That alone, makes him a huge target for Biden’s media defense team.
