Rob Lowe says his best on-screen kiss came with Nastassja Kinski while filming “The Hotel New Hampshire.” Asked about it on “Watch What Happens Live” during a round of “Plead the Fifth” with host Andy Cohen, Lowe didn’t hesitate.

“Have a look at her,” Lowe said when asked what made the kiss stand out. “At that moment in time, she was probably the most beautiful woman I’d certainly ever seen.” He admitted he was also “very, very scared” to kiss her.

Sharon Stone gave the title of best kisser in the business to Robert De Niro, her co-star in the 1995 film “Chicago.” Speaking on SiriusXM’s “Radio Andy” in April, Stone said the kiss “really just knocked me out.”

“We did this scene where I have to go to the bathroom, and because I play this hustler, I get him to give me money to go,” Stone said. “He gives me this money and I look at him like, ‘Really? I think a little more than $50 for the bathroom.’ And he … reaches in, and he gives me, like, $100, and then I lean over, and I kiss him.”

Stone told Cohen that when director Martin Scorsese asked if they wanted another take, “We both looked at him and went, ‘Yeah, I think maybe we need one more.'”

Not every star remembers their famous kisses fondly. Sylvester Stallone called his kiss with Talia Shire in “Rocky” the “kiss from hell” in a recent interview with Page Six Hollywood, though he was quick to say it wasn’t her fault.

“Then I go in to kiss her — pull the hat off, the glasses — and … her nose is running. Badly,” Stallone said. “So we go in for the kiss and she goes [bad coughing noise]. And I go, ‘Oh my God!’ And I have to keep moving forward. There is no reverse. So I knew exactly as soon as I kissed her that within an hour I had the flu.” He said he ended up in bed with a runny nose shortly after filming the scene.

Nicole Kidman didn’t mince words about her worst on-screen kiss either. On the “Las Culturistas” podcast in March, Kidman said bad breath is a “dealbreaker” for her, and singled out her “Big Little Lies” co-star Alexander Skarsgard for eating a falafel right before a romantic scene.

“I’m like, ‘No, no, no, Alex. I’m meant to be kissing you and into you. Put away the falafel now. Because the bad breath does not turn me on,'” Kidman recalled. “I said, ‘No more falafel. Nope. Not before you kiss. Not before you make love. No more falafel. Put the falafel away.'”

Kate Hudson has weighed in on several of her past co-stars. Playing Vanity Fair’s Lie Detector Test with “The Glass Onion” co-star Janelle Monáe, Hudson compared kissing Billy Crudup and Matthew McConaughey, calling Crudup “a gentler kisser” and “a more sophisticated version of a kiss.” Asked about her kiss with Dane Cook from 2008’s “My Best Friend’s Girl,” she replied flatly, “No. Canceled.”

Hudson had already told Gwyneth Paltrow on the “Goop” podcast in October 2020 that her kiss with McConaughey in “Fool’s Gold” was one of her worst. “The thing is, every time I kiss McConaughey, it’s like there’s just something happening and there’s like snot or wind,” she said, recalling an ocean scene where “he just had snot all over his face.” Hudson named Liv Tyler her favorite on-screen kiss, saying “she has the softest lips of them all.”

Sally Field named her “Smokey and the Bandit” co-star and real-life partner at the time, Burt Reynolds, as her worst on-screen kiss. Speaking on “Watch What Happens Live” in December 2022, Field said simply, “It was just not something he did very well.” When Cohen pressed for details, asking if it was “the tongue,” Field responded, “No, we’re not totally involved [with the kiss], it was just a lot of drooling.”
