The Presidents Cup begins Thursday at Medinah Country Club in DuPage County, Illinois, where the United States team will attempt to extend one of the most dominant streaks in international golf.
The Americans have won 10 consecutive Presidents Cups and have lost only once in the event’s first 15 editions. That includes an 18.5-11.5 win over the International team at Royal Montreal in 2024. Oddsmakers have installed the U.S. as a -400 favorite this week, a reflection of a roster that includes seven of the world’s top 10 ranked players. The International team’s top-ranked golfer, Si Woo Kim, comes in at No. 14.
World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler headlines the American lineup, though team play has been the one soft spot on his record. Scheffler carries a combined 6-11-4 mark across three Ryder Cups and two Presidents Cups.
One name to watch is 21-year-old Jackson Koivun, the second-youngest American ever to play in a Presidents Cup. Koivun won the 3M Open in only his third professional start and reached the FedEx Cup playoffs after just five starts on tour.
