Podcast host and author Mel Robbins says her home in Vermont sometimes feels like it belongs in the fantasy novels she can’t put down.
Robbins, whose self-titled podcast has drawn Golden Globe attention and whose book “The Let Them Theory” was among the top-selling titles of 2025, recently detailed the everyday products and habits she relies on. She is also a co-founder of Pure Genius Protein, which just launched a new Protein + Fiber Shot.
Robbins said the ACOTAR fantasy series is her favorite, and she’s rereading all five books ahead of the sixth installment due out in October.
“I live in Vermont, and sometimes I look outside and swear I’m living in Velaris,” Robbins said. “My daughters and I first read this series two years ago, and we still talk about these books and these characters weekly.”
Robbins said the series even shaped the look of her own book. “The ‘Let Them Theory’ book cover is green and yellow because Sawyer (my daughter and co-author) and I were so inspired by the second book, ‘A Court of Mist and Fury,’ which also happens to have a green-and-yellow cover,” she said.
Beyond books, Robbins described a daily routine built around small rituals. She uses a eucalyptus shower spray she first encountered at a high-end spa. “I turn on the shower and I spray the walls,” she said. “On an overwhelming day, 10 seconds alone with the eucalyptus steam feels like a mini escape.”
She also credited a favorite pair of Vuori gym shorts for their comfort. “They are so soft and light, it feels like you are wearing nothing,” Robbins, 57, said. “I am somewhat self-conscious about shorts, but these are flattering on absolutely everybody.”
A soft blanket she keeps in multiple locations — her office, car, living room and even hotel rooms when traveling — has become a household staple. “All three of our adult kids have them, because they stole mine when they visited home,” she said.
Robbins starts each morning with a 20-gram protein and 5-gram fiber shot, sugar-free at 100 calories, which she said improves her “energy, focus and mood significantly.” That experience, she said, is what led her to become a co-founder of Pure Genius Protein.
A former criminal defense attorney, Robbins also carries an old-school stenography notebook everywhere. “It holds absolutely everything in my brain and has become more important to me than my phone,” she said.
