This piece lays out the troubling reports from multiple ex-girlfriends about Maine Democratic Senate hopeful Graham Platner, including allegations of violent fantasies, a controversial Totenkopf tattoo, and troubling behavior that his campaign attributes to PTSD. It details personal accounts, the candidate’s public response, and Republican reactions demanding answers and distancing from national Democrats. The report keeps the core allegations and direct quotes intact while stripping source links and background credits.

Voters in Maine are getting a clear, uncomfortable look at allegations from women who once dated Graham Platner. The accounts describe a pattern of heavy drinking, violent talk and behavior, and an emblematic chest tattoo that has stirred alarm. Those stories are now part of a broader conversation about character and fitness for public office.

One woman recounted encountering a chest tattoo identified as the Totenkopf, a symbol tied to Nazi death camp guards, and said Platner joked about it. She also claimed he explained the tattoo as a nod to a death unit and the Schutzstaffel, remarks that undercut any claim of innocent ignorance. Those details raise real questions about judgment and sensitivity to violent symbols.

Beyond the tattoo, the allegations include vivid descriptions of violent fantasizing. She said Platner would sharpen an ax while watching television and muse about raping home invaders, a line that is chilling to read. “He said this a lot: If anybody ever broke in here, I would rape them,” and then tried to frame it as not sexual but about dominance, even invoking the word “gay” in criticizing how others might interpret it.

The same account claims a tense physical encounter where Platner allegedly pulled her out of a taxi by her wrist and another where she was pushed into a bedroom and held in until eventually falling asleep and leaving. Those are the kinds of stories that move beyond bad judgment into the realm of threats and physical intimidation. For many voters, they are impossible to shrug off.

Platner has acknowledged struggles with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and a troubled period he attributes to undiagnosed PTSD and alcohol misuse. “Throughout this campaign, I’ve been open about what was a very dark period of my life where I struggled with undiagnosed PTSD, too often self-medicated with alcohol, and was a far from perfect boyfriend,” Platner said in a statement to Fox News Digital. “I take responsibility for all of that, and wish I had been better. Any characterization beyond that is false, and I believe, politically motivated. I’m not proud of who I was then, but I am proud of the work I’ve done since, and the movement we are building in Maine.”

Another former partner described how online posts and other behavior hardened her concerns about how Platner viewed women. “I recognized a version of him that I had experiences with,” she told reporters. Several women described drinking to excess and a pattern where their role in his life seemed secondary to his own turmoil.

NEW WEBSITE PUTS PLATNER ON NOTICE BY AMPLIFYING SCANDALS: ‘ONE RED FLAG AFTER ANOTHER’

Republicans have been quick to use these accounts as proof of a pattern Democrats should not ignore. “Every day brings another deeply disturbing revelation about Graham Platner,” spokeswoman Delanie Bomar said, calling the reports consistent with earlier controversies. She continued with a forceful warning: “If he’s willing to do this to his own girlfriend, imagine what he’s willing to do in a position of political power. Maine voters deserve to know why Democrats are willing to excuse this deranged behavior.”

“If Chuck Schumer and national Democrats don’t distance themselves from Platner, they’ll be forced to answer for his behavior every day from now until Election Day,” she added, urging a clear break from a candidate facing repeated allegations. That demand for clarity reflects a broader Republican stance: character matters, and national leaders should not sidestep these kinds of claims.
