Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo tried to silence premature fears that the new-found energy behind the overturning or Roe V Wade will lead to a blue wave. During an interview on Fox, Boebert explained the America First movement and how Republicans are still on pace to snatch up huge victories. She noted, “Only way Republicans lose in November is if they start acting like Democrats”.
“These are the people who have traded their party’s platforms for a lie,” Boebert fired out. “I’m not surprised that America First candidates are winning. No one should be surprised by that because they are wanting to put America first and get our country back on track.”
Boebert was referring to the major wins by Trump-endorsed candidates in Arizona Thursday.
She continued, “That is what is most important. And it is not extreme, it is not far-right to want to do the right thing. It’s okay to say that it’s wrong to mutilate our children.”
Boebert continued, “It’s okay to say that parents should be in charge of our children’s education. It’s good to say that we need to lower inflation and not do so by spending another $800 billion. So I’m okay with doing the right thing, and that’s what our party needs to get back to. ”
Democratic voters in Kansas were able to score a victory off of Roe and Republicans have been afraid that it’s a signal that the energy has changed.
She concluded, “The only way we lose the midterms in November is if Republicans start acting like Democrats and start appeasing them and their voters because they’re afraid of a hit-piece.”
Addmitably I was a little concerned after the first leak from SCOTUS about their decision on Roe V Wade that it would distract people from the hellscape Biden and Democrats have created. A large portion of America doesn’t support abortion but I knew then that Democrats would use it as a talking point. The big win in Arizona signals, to me, that the people aren’t so easily fooled.
