The NFL fined Jets head coach Aaron Glenn $250,000 for his conduct toward game officials, according to a source. Glenn was one of three head coaches the league disciplined over the same issue.

The fine stems from the Jets’ loss to the Patriots, a game in which New York was flagged five times for 35 yards. One of those calls, a disputed offensive pass interference penalty on receiver Tim Patrick, wiped out a touchdown by Omar Cooper Jr. on the game’s opening drive.

Glenn does not have to pay the $250,000 right away. The fine is being held in abeyance and can be rescinded if his conduct improves. The move appears aimed at sending a broader message to coaches across the league about how they interact with officials during games.

Glenn would not comment specifically on the fine but addressed his dealings with officials when asked Friday.

“I don’t think that’s ever been a problem at all. Listen, I understand how the league works and I am fully behind how the league operates and I don’t think any coach within this league has any issues with the refs,” Glenn said. “We know it’s a tough game and refs make those split-second calls at that time. It’s tough. So we support the refs, we support what the league’s doing.”

“And, again, I keep those things between me, the refs and the NFL.”

Injury Report

Running back Breece Hall, the team’s top option in the backfield, was limited in practice for a second straight day because of a quad injury. He is questionable for Sunday after sitting out the last three games.

“We’ll take it all the way to Sunday and see how he feels,” Glenn said.

Starting left guard Dylan Parham (knee) is in the same boat. Running back and kick returner Kene Nwangwu (knee) is also questionable. Linebacker Kiko Mauigoa (quad), offensive lineman Max Mitchell (concussion) and edge rusher Joseph Ossai (ankle) have all been ruled out for Sunday.

Cornerback Rotation

Glenn pushed back on any suggestion that cornerback Jarvis Brownlee Jr. was benched late in the loss to the Patriots. He said the Jets simply rotate defensive packages, with Brownlee and rookie D’Angelo Ponds both used as the team’s inside defensive backs against slot receivers.

“Both of those guys will play,” Glenn said.
