Lori Lightfoot was a mayor of Chicago that recently left office. Her tenure was marred by disaster and her tenure was largely defined by her failure to manage the city. She drove away major businesses, leading to the decline of the region’s economy, and Chicago’s crime rate skyrocketed under her watch.
It’s no surprise that soon-to-be household-name comedian Stavros Halikas has weighed in on this issue. In an upcoming special, Halikas gave the former mayor one of the best worst compliments ever. He described her as “visually, one of the funniest people of all time.”
It’s true that Lightfoot is a funny-looking person — if you can get past the fact that her tenure as mayor has been far from funny. Halikas went on to joke that anyone who looks like Lightfoot must be competent at their job, which is obviously not the case here.
“Shout out to Lori Lightfoot. You can be ugly and fuckin bad at your job and succeed,” he explained, noting that he was sad to see her go as a “scion for the stupidiest and ugliest in society.”
In terms of her performance as mayor, it’s clear that Lightfoot was a dismal failure. The city went from being a pretty average city in terms of weather, to a crime-ridden nightmare. Businesses left the region, taking their capital with them. All of this happened on Lightfoot’s watch.
If you’re looking for an example of someone succeeding despite not being the best at their job, Lightfoot is the perfect example. She was able to stay in office despite her failures, and that speaks volumes. It’s a testament to how politics works, and it’s a reminder of how important it is that people take the time to vote.
Halikas was clearly onto something when he said, “Shout out to Lori Lightfoot. You can be ugly and fuckin bad at your job and succeed.” Lightfoot is a perfect example of how not to run a city, and how the people in charge can get away with it. It’s a cautionary tale, and people should take heed.
At the end of the day, Halikas is right. Lori Lightfoot was a horrendous mayor, and she’s lucky that she was voted out of office. Her tenure in office was a complete disaster, and it’s clear that she was not the right person for the job
