As the Supreme Court continues to chip away at abortion procedures, conservative pundits, pro-life activists, and even some liberal commentators are beginning to acknowledge that abortion is about more than just medical emergencies. It’s about free, consequence-free sex.
On a recent Saturday edition of MSNBC’s The Saturday Show, host Jonathan Capehart and Rethinking Sex author Christine Emba discussed the implications of abortion becoming increasingly difficult to obtain. Capehart asked Emba how post-Roe America is altering the dynamics of relationships and sex. Emba replied that it is having a “chilling effect” on relationships.
She went on to explain that women are less likely to enter into relationships because they fear the loss of autonomy if they become pregnant. She also noted that men are increasingly seeking out vasectomies because they don’t want to risk having an unintended pregnancy”
“Perhaps all of these things, I mean we’ve already heard conversation about, you know, the so-called sex recession and we are of course now in a relationship recession. Fewer people are entering relationships, getting married, finding partners and when you talk to young people, you see that decisions like this, the potential lack of bodily autonomy is really affecting their decision-making. ”
This should come as no surprise to anyone who has been paying attention. The pro-abortion movement has always been about consequence-free sex, not medical emergencies or women’s health. It’s about a woman’s right to do whatever she wants with her body and not be held accountable for it.
What’s even more concerning is the fact that liberals are now advocating for the transition of gender among children in order to create a “consequence-free” lifestyle. They want kids to be able to identify however they want and not be held responsible for their actions.
This is a dangerous path we’re heading down. It’s time for liberals to admit that abortion is about more than just medical emergencies. It’s about consequence-free sex and it’s time for them to accept the consequences of their actions. We must protect the lives of the unborn and put an end to the liberal agenda of promoting a culture of irresponsibility.
