What’s in the treatment
The most popular option is a topical spray combining finasteride and minoxidil, the two medications most commonly used to treat androgenetic alopecia, or male pattern hair loss. Both have been clinically studied for this use. The spray is applied directly to the scalp once a day.
Hims also sells a minoxidil-and-finasteride serum with a dropper for more precise application, and a chewable, citrus-flavored tablet called Hair Hybrids that combines both medications with a proprietary blend of additional ingredients aimed at supporting overall hair health.
According to Hims, some patients see visible regrowth within 3 to 6 months of starting treatment.
Once a provider approves a prescription, the medication ships directly to the patient’s door at no extra cost, and patients can message their healthcare provider with questions throughout treatment.
