The First Lady appeared alongside a humanoid robot at the White House during the closing day of a global children’s technology summit, highlighting a push to blend artificial intelligence with education. Delegations from multiple nations shared plans for integrating tech into classrooms while the humanoid introduced itself and demonstrated multilingual greetings. The event showcased a new generation of household-capable robots developed by a California startup and underscored a focus on American leadership in responsible innovation.

First Lady Melania Trump walked into the East Room flanked by a walking, talking humanoid as she met education counterparts at the summit. The scene was both symbolic and practical, aiming to show how machines could operate in human environments built for people. The robot’s presence turned heads and set a tone for conversations about tools that could support teachers and families.

The initiative, titled Fostering the Future Together, centered on artificial intelligence and schooling, inviting officials to lay out national strategies for technology in education. Representatives from nine countries presented approaches to blending digital tools with curriculum, stressing both access and skill development. The gathering put a spotlight on global coordination around tech that touches children’s learning every day.

“The future of AI is personified,” the first lady said. “It will be formed in the shape of humans. Very soon, artificial intelligence will move from our mobile phones to humanoids that deliver utility. Since our environment is designed for people, humanoid systems are uniquely suited to navigate and operate within our world. They fit well.”

“Imagine a humanoid educator named ‘Plato,” she added. “Access to the classical studies is now instantaneous – literature, science, art, philosophy, mathematics, and history – Humanity’s entire corpus of information is available in the comfort of your home.”

The humanoid and the first lady walked side by side across the East Room before the robot navigated around a panel table to greet participants. “Thank you, first lady Melania Trump, for inviting me to the White House,” it said. “It is an honor to be at Fostering the Future Together’s global coalition inaugural meeting.”

“I’m Figure 03, a humanoid built for the United States of America,” it continued. “I am grateful to be part of this historic movement to empower children with technology and education.” The machine then offered greetings in ten languages and returned down a red carpet, demonstrating both mobility and multilingual capability.

The robot was unveiled earlier by a Sunnyvale, California company developing third-generation humanoids meant to assist around the home. Engineers pitched the design as practical for everyday tasks and interactions within environments designed for people. The showcase served as a live example of how private-sector innovation can plug into public efforts to modernize learning.

From a conservative perspective, the moment underscored American enterprise stepping forward to solve real problems for families and schools. It also raised a straightforward point: if the U.S. leads in building useful, safe robotics, families and educators stand to benefit while American jobs and standards set the global bar. The meeting was a clear signal that technology paired with practical policy can expand opportunity without abandoning common-sense oversight.
