Maren Morris posted a batch of photos from a recent trip to Bali, telling fans she is “not healed but healing.”
The 36-year-old country singer shared the images on Instagram, thanking “@rachelbeauregard + @hotyogaeastnashville for the most beautiful journey to Bali with so many new friends for life,” adding, “And it’s not over yet :)”
One photo shows Morris in a black string bikini on a deck, drink in hand. Others show her at a group meditation session, standing under a waterfall, and joking around with friends.
Fans reacted in the comments. “She’s thrivinggggggg (and surviving),” one wrote. Another said, “So happy to see this journey for you.”
Morris broke through in 2016 with “My Church,” the lead single off her debut album “Hero,” which also produced “80’s Mercedes,” “I Could Use a Love Song” and “Rich.” She has released four studio albums since, including “D R E A M S I C L E,” “Humble Quest” and “Girl,” and has 17 Grammy nominations with one win.
What exactly she’s healing from now wasn’t specified in the post. But speaking to People in August 2025 about “D R E A M S I C L E,” Morris said the album dealt with her sexuality and her divorce from ex-husband Ryan Hurd.
“It’s just cool; it’s a very intimate record, very vulnerable, not the easiest to make — so the fact that people are receiving it this well and healing from my healing is really special, to get to see the live form of that that place now.”
Politics and pushback
Morris, an outspoken liberal, has said in a TikTok posted in January that her mental health has suffered because she is “so deeply concerned and uncomfortable with the weird status quo of country music.” She said she no longer attends many award shows because they’ve become “dicey” as the genre’s political atmosphere shifted following President Trump’s first term.
“I’ve lost a lot of fans over the years because of my viewpoints and I think that’s fair. If you don’t agree with me, and you can’t enjoy my music because of my viewpoints, you are absolutely allowed to do that.”
The singer has drawn criticism before. In 2024, she faced calls for her arrest after taking her young son to a drag show. She defended the decision on “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” saying the event was “family friendly.”
“I think it’s just such an amazing expression of artistry, and so I just think like normalizing it and making it seem like these are just people that love dressing up, too, is an amazing thing. It was an all-ages show, so it was completely family-friendly.”
