The Biden administration has been sending a large number of undocumented immigrants to Texas, and threatening legal consequences for anyone who resists.

However, the state of Texas has taken a defiant stance against this.

Governor Greg Abbott signed a bill called SB4 that gives local law enforcement the power to arrest and prosecute illegal migrants, as well as issue deportation orders.

Despite being warned by the Department of Justice that they would be sued if they implemented SB4, Texas authorities arrested several illegal immigrants at Shelby Park in Eagle Pass on charges of criminal trespassing.

This marks the first arrests since Texas took control of the border area last week.

The arrested individuals are single adult males and females.

Under the authority of Gov. @GregAbbott_TX’s Border Disaster Declaration, @TxDPS Troopers are arresting illegal immigrants for criminal trespass at #ShelbyPark in Eagle Pass. Troopers are enforcing criminal trespass on single adult men & women. The State of #Texas will maintain a proactive posture in curbing illegal border crossings between the ports of entry.

According to Olivarez, CNN was informed that single adult migrant men and women were placed under the custody of the state, while migrant families and children were handed over to US Border Patrol.

Furthermore, Olivarez mentioned that migrants who are arrested for criminal trespassing will initially face charges at the state level before being transferred to officials from US Border Patrol.

As previously reported by The Gateway Pundit, last week the Texas Department of Public Safety notified Eagle Pass Mayor Rolando Salinas about this matter.

However, in response, the Biden administration retaliated by removing border patrol agents after Texas assumed control of the park.

Eagle Pass has been heavily impacted as trains carrying numerous undocumented individuals from southern Mexico continue to arrive in the area.
