Vice President Kamala Harris was in Colorado Monday to promote the Biden administration’s push for clean energy. During the conversation, Harris raised eyebrows with some comments she made about conservatives and the environment.
She recalled coming home from school one day and asking her mother why conservatives were bad.
To set the tone, Harris begins this cringy story by claiming that she has been ‘fighting’ climate change ‘since birth’—No joke.
“We called it ecology at the time,” Harris said. “So, some of us who were born around that time know what I’m saying. And we talked about it in the context of conservation. I couldn’t reconcile it. Now I can.”
While Harris may have now reconciled her thoughts on conservatives, the reality is that her party is the one pushing for policies that will do more harm than good. The Biden administration’s Inflation Reduction Act, for example, is a landmark bill that accelerates the expansion of clean energy, such as wind and solar power, and aims to reduce the nation’s dependence on oil, coal, and natural gas according to the Biden administration.
The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office has said the Inflation Reduction Act will have little to no impact in reducing inflation, which has reached historic levels under Biden. This is due in part to the sharp rise in energy costs which began shortly after he took office.
The Biden administration’s environmental push is nothing more than a costly attempt to appease the left’s base. It is a bad deal for the American people and will do nothing to address the real issues of climate change.
In contrast, the Republican Party has put forward a number of policies that will actually help address the issue of climate change. For example, we have proposed tax credits for individuals and businesses that invest in clean energy, allowing them to lower their energy bills. We have also proposed incentives for the development of electric vehicles, which will help reduce the emissions of carbon dioxide.
The GOP has also proposed policies that would encourage the development of green technologies and investments in research and development. These policies will help create new jobs, lower energy costs, and reduce emissions.
Kamala Harris may have reconciled her thoughts on conservatives and the environment, but her party’s policies will do nothing to address the real issues of climate change. The Republican Party, on the other hand, has proposed actual solutions that will help reduce emissions and create jobs. It’s time for the Biden administration to stop lying to the American people and start supporting real solutions to climate change.
