“The View” co-host Joy Behar said Friday that President Trump is “not long for this world” while in the same breath saying she’d welcome him back onto her daytime talk show.
Behar made the comments in an interview with New York Magazine, reflecting on her long-running feud with Trump.
“I’d love Donald Trump to take the heat,” Behar said.
“You know Trump is not long for this world. He seems ill. He does not seem like he’s well,” Behar added.
A White House spokesperson fired back in a statement to Fox News Digital, calling Behar an “extremely unlikeable, talentless hack with a poorly rated TV show who clearly suffers from a severe and incurable disease known as Trump Derangement Syndrome.”
“I lose braincells every single time I have the displeasure of hearing her speak,” the spokesperson added.
This is not the first time Behar has publicly questioned Trump’s health. Last month she claimed the media scrutinizes Trump’s health less than it scrutinized former President Joe Biden’s.
Behar and Trump go back decades, long before he entered politics. Trump appeared on “The View” more than a dozen times before becoming president, and Behar attended his 1993 wedding to Marla Maples at The Plaza Hotel.
Behar said Trump’s sense of humor has curdled since those days.
“I knew him when he was just an annoying New York figure,” she said. “Back then, he had a sense of humor that was not as bizarre as it is now. Now his sense of humor is making fun of handicapped people.”
She recalled once comparing Trump to Woody Allen after he joked he would date his daughter Ivanka if they weren’t related. “He actually thought that was funny,” Behar said.
Behar has called Trump “much more dangerous” now than during his first term and recently urged Americans to pressure Congress into invoking the 25th Amendment, saying he is “destroying the United States of America.”
