The scandal surrounding the July 13, 2024 assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump is escalating, despite corporate media’s apparent efforts to downplay the story.
Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) warned that the American public would be “shocked, astonished, and appalled” by the level of incompetence displayed by the Secret Service during the incident.
The assassination attempt occurred during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, when an armed Democrat donor, Thomas Crooks, infiltrated the event.
Crooks reportedly managed to climb onto a rooftop and fire multiple shots, an action attributed to serious lapses in Secret Service security.
Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) appeared on Jesse Watters’ show Thursday night and shared additional alarming details, specifically concerning the Secret Service’s handling of the situation.
According to Hawley, the lead agent on duty during the assassination attempt had failed at least one of her training exams and was widely considered an underperforming agent.
Despite this, former Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle—whom Hawley described as a close ally of the Biden administration—promoted her anyway.
Hawley highlighted that the security team at the rally was “undermanned, understaffed, and lacking experienced personnel,” based on information from whistleblowers.
He criticized acting Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe for refusing to be transparent about the agency’s failures that day, calling it “totally unacceptable and unbelievable.”
Now a whistleblower alleges that the lead advance agent for President Trump's entire trip to Butler, PA had failed training exams when she first joined the Secret Service.

In a further revelation, Hawley disclosed that the Department of Homeland Security is allegedly instructing the Secret Service not to comply with congressional requests for documents related to the event.
This refusal has fueled suspicions of a cover-up within the Biden administration. Watters, in response, stated that this development confirms his belief that there is a concerted effort to hide the truth about the assassination attempt.
Now I’m told the Department of Homeland Security is pressuring the Secret Service not to comply with document requests by Congress about the Trump assassination attempt.

Blumenthal’s comments suggest that the Senate is taking the situation seriously, with promises of a full investigation into the Secret Service’s failures. However, concerns remain that the incident could be swept under the rug if Congress does not act decisively.
The gravity of this situation raises broader concerns about trust in federal institutions, particularly under a Democratic administration.
If the details surrounding the attack on a former president are not fully exposed, many will question whether the government can be trusted to act in the public’s interest in future cases.
