Just 8 days before Hunter Biden’s gun trial, Joe Biden made an unexpected late-night visit to Hallie Biden, a witness in the case.

It is worth noting that Hunter had a past relationship with Hallie, who is the widow of his deceased brother Beau.

The trial for Hunter’s felony gun charges in Delaware is scheduled to begin on June 3.

Joe Biden’s spokesperson Andrew Bates informed the New York Post that the visit was in honor of the upcoming anniversary of Beau’s passing and stated that there was no discussion about Hunter’s trial during the visit.

Excerpt from the New York Post:

President Biden made a surprise nighttime visit to the Delaware home of Hallie Biden on Sunday — just before she’s due to serve as one of the most important witnesses at first son Hunter Biden’s federal trial for alleged gun crimes.

Biden stopped by Hallie’s home around 8 p.m. for a brief private talk eight days before the 54-year-old first son’s trial is scheduled to stand trial beginning June 3.

Hallie dated Hunter at the time of his alleged gun crimes and is one of a dozen expected witnesses.

Although many commentators noted the awkward optics due to the looming trial, the visit came four days before the anniversary of Beau’s death.

White House spokesman Andrew Bates told The Post that the president didn’t discuss the trial with Hallie Biden during the visit.

“No,” he replied. “He visited her because of the approaching 9th anniversary of Beau’s passing.”

Hunter Biden faced federal gun charges in September when he was indicted in a Delaware court on three counts connected to his possession of a firearm while under the influence of drugs.

“Two of the counts carry a maximum prison sentence of 10 years, while the third has a maximum of five years,” NBC News reported.

In October, Hunter entered a plea of not guilty to all three felony gun charges. If found guilty of the tax-related charges, he could potentially be sentenced to up to 17 years in prison.

In October 2020, reports emerged that Hallie Biden, who was Hunter’s former partner and the widow of his deceased brother, had discarded a gun in the trash.

Hunter confirmed this during an online discussion with his family, where they confronted him about inappropriate behavior in the presence of a child.

Subsequent news outlets released more text messages from Hunter Biden that were highly incriminating.

In a lengthy message to a family friend, Hunter candidly revealed the inner workings and challenges within his family.

Hunter revealed that his deceased brother’s wife, Hallie Biden, disposed of his gun, prompting the involvement of the police, FBI, and Secret Service.

Hallie asserted that she did so out of concern for Hunter’s well-being and the safety of the children. Despite this incident, Hallie Biden has not faced any charges.
