Reports surfaced that four U.S. citizens had been killed in the Hamas attack in Israel and Americans had likely been taken hostage, leading to President Joe Biden being roasted for hosting a BBQ and enjoying a concert at the Rose Garden.
U.S. sources uncovered on Sunday that at least four Americans had been killed as a result of the Hamas attacks, with the death toll of U.S. citizens in Israel anticipated to increase further.
At least seven Americans are reported to be missing in Israel, with Michael Herzog, Israeli Ambassador to the United States, confirming that they were taken as hostages by Hamas in Gaza.
Israel Minister for Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer confirmed the report, stating that “there are a considerable number of hostages, including some from the United States.”
Also on Sunday, President Biden hosted a barbecue at the White House while the war between Israel and Hamas raged on.
At 11:34 a.m., Biden called a lid for the day.
A White House pool report revealed that Biden was entertaining in the Rose Garden on Sunday afternoon.
Brian Bennett – senior White House correspondent at Time magazine – inquired about a live band playing in the Rose Garden in the late afternoon and early evening.
The White House responded, “The President and First Lady are hosting a BBQ for White House Executive Residence Staff and their families.”
