House Judiciary Chairman Rep. Jim Jordan, a conservative Republican, has issued a subpoena Wednesday to Mindy Lubber, the CEO of Ceres, an organization that has been accused of facilitating collusion through its company Climate Action 100+.

“You are hereby commanded to be and appear before the select committee to produce the things identified on the attached schedule touching matters of inquiry committed to said committee or subcommittee; and you are not to depart without leave of said committee or subcommittee,” the subpoena states.

This move was taken after repeated warnings and letters from the committee demanding information from Ceres. The subpoena calls for Lubber to appear before the House Judiciary Committee on July 7th at 9:00 a.m., sending a clear message that failure to comply will not be tolerated.

Jordan’s accusations stem from his belief that Climate Action 100+ is likely violating U.S antitrust law and may be comparable to a “cartel”.

From The Daily Caller:

Lawmakers had previously sent letters to Ceres demanding that the organization to hand over documents. The original letters were also signed by Republican Reps. Dan Bishop of North Carolina, Matt Gaetz of Florida, Tom McClintock of California, Scott Fitzgerald of Wisconsin and Cliff Bentz of Oregon.

Jordan and Bishop gave the recipients until May 19, 2023, to provide them with the information they requested and warned “that the Committee may be forced to resort to compulsory process if these requests remain outstanding.” The company’s failure to comply by the deadline led to Wednesday’s subpoena.

Upon discovery that these requests had gone unanswered Jordan acted swiftly in issuing the subpoena for Lubber’s appearance.

Is this an example of Republicans finally taking action against organizations that stray away from traditional values such as free market economy principles or capitalism which have long been held by many in this party as fundamental cornerstones in our society?

They are actively seeking out those entities who are attempting to circumvent established laws or regulations without due process through secret alliances or other means.

It is important for each American citizen no matter their political affiliation to recognize how vital it is for all corporations operating within the United States to abide by our current laws whether they agree with them or not otherwise chaos could ensue if everyone decided their own rules were superior instead following one universal path forward as part of our collective journey towards prosperity and progress.

Republicans have sent an unmistakable message through Rep Jim Jordan’s issuance of a subpoena calling on Mindy Lubber CEO of Ceres for her appearance before Congress on July 7th about corporate environmental social governance (ESG) efforts potentially infringing upon federal antitrust laws due to alleged collusion between Climate Action 100+.

This seems to underscore their commitment to upholding traditional values such as free market economy principles along with encouraging all American companies regardless of political leanings remain compliant with existing regulations set forth in order to maintain order most importantly ensure the well-being of citizens across the nation going forward into future generations
