Arizona Senator Jeff Flake won’t be returning in 2018. From his claims, the Trump administration is too much for him to bear.
In reality, he was about to lose his state’s primary by a lot. Moreover, he’s drawing backlash for his latest symbolic donation. On Twitter, he posted a donation for a certain Democrat in a certain race.
All he said in the tweet: “Country over party.”

While my opinions on Moore remain mixed, taking such a hard stance is nothing more than a publicity stunt.
Moreover, the timeline of Moore’s allegations has left many scratching their heads. Moore has been in the Senate for years. Obviously, he’s had his fair share of liberals trying to dig up dirt. The timeline (and accusers) of these allegations has drawn a lot of doubts.
Before they endorsed Roy Moore, the Trump administration said the people of Alabama should decide their next Senator. I still firmly believe this. I don’t live in Alabama, so it’s not my fight.
Regardless, Jeff Flake has decided to donate to a man that is firmly Left. Here are a few of his views. Taken from the Conservative Tribune:
- (On abortion) “I’m not in favor of anything that is going to infringe on a woman’s right and her freedom to choose. That’s just the position that I’ve had for many years. It’s a position I continue to have. But when those people — I want to make sure that people understand that once a baby is born, I’m going to be there for that child. That’s where I become a right to lifer.”
- (On religious freedom) “… if your culture means that you would discriminate against somebody, that you would not treat anybody in the same way that Christ would do, then I’m not going to protect that. I’m not going to protect discrimination of any sort, in any way, whether it’s race, religion, sex orientation or whatever. So I’m not going to protect that culture if that’s what their culture is.”
- (On the minimum wage) “People in Alabama should not have to work two or three jobs just to provide food, housing and other necessities for their families, often foregoing health care and other needs. I strongly support ensuring working Alabamians receive a living wage for their hard work. It is past time. They are then less reliant on the government and those dollars help lift the economy.”
Yes, this is the kind of man Jeff Flake has chosen to endorse. In so doing, he has betrayed his own party. With a check and a tweet, Flake has betrayed the very citizens who voted him into office.
