The Indianapolis Colts fell 42-7 to the Jacksonville Jaguars on the road, a blowout loss that may have marked the last game Jonathan Taylor plays in a Colts uniform.

Indianapolis dropped to 2-6 as trade speculation around Taylor, their best and most valuable player, intensifies. The Colts have already dealt away two of their top players this week, offensive lineman Quenton Nelson and defensive tackle DeForest Buckner. Reports say the team turned down an offer for Taylor that was built around a second-round pick.

Taylor was held to 23 yards on eight carries and lost a fumble on a botched trick play. He is the last player to rush for more than 100 yards against the Jaguars, a mark he set in the 2024 regular-season finale.

Both the New York Giants and Minnesota Vikings, currently sitting atop their divisions, have been floated as potential landing spots for Taylor, a three-time Pro Bowler.

Jaguars dominate from the start

Trevor Lawrence threw three touchdown passes, Bayshul Tuten scored twice, and Rayuan Lane returned an interception 92 yards for a touchdown with 10 seconds left in the second quarter. Jacksonville’s 28-0 halftime lead was the third-largest in franchise history.

The win extended Indianapolis’s road skid at EverBank Stadium to 12 straight games, a streak dating back to the Colts’ last win there in 2014 and including a 2016 game played in London. Even in some of Jacksonville’s worst seasons — including a one-win year in 2020 and two three-win campaigns — the Jaguars still managed to beat the Colts at home.

Colts quarterback Daniel Jones completed 19 of 28 passes for 144 yards and a touchdown to Josh Downs, but threw two interceptions and was benched in the fourth quarter in favor of Anthony Richardson.

Indianapolis is set to host the Dallas Cowboys next week. Whether Jonathan Taylor is still on the roster by then remains an open question.
