Jacob Elordi confronted a swarm of photographers chasing him and girlfriend Kendall Jenner through the streets of Paris, in a video that went viral Monday.
The 29-year-old “Euphoria” actor pleaded with the paparazzi to back off, saying, “Wait, wait, wait. Can we just walk home?” He put on sunglasses and repeated the request, asking, “Can we just walk home back to our hotel?” before telling the photographers, “No flash, just let us walk. Just let us go.”
Jenner, 30, shielded her eyes with her hands as Elordi put his arm around her waist and guided her across the street. She wore a plunging gray dress with black heels; Elordi was dressed in a white button-down tucked into black pants with loafers.
The clip drew mixed reactions online. Some mocked Elordi’s frustration, with one commenter writing, “Dude don’t realize he’s dating a Jenner,” and another adding, “This is new to HIM, she’s used to it.” Others said Elordi was simply being protective of his girlfriend.
The two have been romantically linked since April and have largely kept the relationship out of public view. Sources told Page Six that Jenner sees Elordi as “husband material” because he is “grown-up and solid,” and in August an insider described him as “such a gentleman” who “treats Kendall incredibly well.”
Elordi’s discomfort with public attention predates the relationship. In a February interview on “CBS Mornings,” he explained why he stays off social media: “My dream was to be an actor. … I’m far too nervous to ask for more than that. I’ve been given exactly what I wanted, and I see it exactly how I dreamed it. And I live it how I dreamed it. So that’s about all I can handle.”
In June, Elordi told a fan who touched him in Japan, “Don’t touch me, bro.”
Jenner, who has been famous for nearly two decades, has historically kept her relationships — including with Bad Bunny and Devin Booker — out of the spotlight. In a 2019 interview with Vogue Australia, she said, “I got a glimpse of how my sisters dealt with [the attention] and it’s cool to learn from that,” calling her personal connections “special and very sacred.” She added, “Bringing things into the public makes everything so much messier. … A relationship is only meant to be between two people, and the second you make it the world’s business is when it starts messing with the two people mentally.”
