The ever-rediculous Ilhan Omar sought to dismantle the Minneapolis police force now blames them for the spike in crime. The dumbfounded Congresswoman obviously can’t understand how crime has risen in a city where the Democrats have actively worked to cancel officers—Leading to less of a police presence.
Rather than admit that they were wrong to demonize officers, Omar blames them for the increase in violent crimes in the city. I guess Dems expected more for less. Fewer officers means more crime, right?
“What we must also recognize is that the reduction in policing currently in our city, and the lawlessness that is happening is due to two things,” Omar claimed. “One, the police have chosen to not fulfill their oath of office and to provide the public safety they are owed to the citizens they serve, right? It’s documented. But even before that, it was documented. The Minneapolis Police Department is the most dysfunctional police department, in our state and probably in the country.”
Omar’s list was made even more pointless when she whipped out what she says is the second cause—Spoiler alert; it’s the police again. Seriously, someone needs to explain to her how lists work.
“The second part is that there has to be accountability,” Omar continued. “And someone that is actually taking responsibility for what the police does invest in to. And that doesn’t exist in this moment. And I do believe that the current charter that we have, that’s tied the hands of those who want to have that accountability because we are mandated to have a specific amount of policing, we are mandated to, you know, have the kind of these union contracts that we have right now. I don’t know any other big city in the state of Minnesota that has the charter that we have, it just doesn’t exist.”
Omar basically said, ‘crime is bad and two things are to blame: one: the police’ and ‘two: the police’. After her and her liberal buddies gutted the Minneapolis police force…
What a joke!

Ugh, news flash, Omar—When you take the cops off the streets crime will rise. Because officers are essential workers, unlike politicians. If Minneapolis has a robust police force and still ranked high in crime, then we could talk but in terms of law enforcement presence—Less is NOT more.
These ultra-liberal ‘defund’ cities have proven as much.
