FBI agents raiding a luxury apartment in downtown Los Angeles last month uncovered 94 pounds of fentanyl, a gold-plated .50-caliber Desert Eagle pistol, an AR-15, and a live alligator kept in a glass tank in what investigators describe as a full-scale stash house operating high above the city.
Marvin Angelito, 27, and Susan Gonzalez, 26, were arrested Thursday and each charged with possession with intent to distribute fentanyl. The two allegedly ran the operation out of a 45th-floor unit at 230 W. Olympic Blvd, a high-rise known as Olympic + Hill that offers a pool, panoramic views and a private gaming room.
Investigators say the apartment functioned as a known trafficking hub in the drug trade, where smaller-time dealers came to buy fentanyl and cocaine from the couple.
The case broke open after the FBI flipped a confidential informant who was already facing federal drug charges. Working with agents, the informant arranged to buy 500,000 M30 fentanyl pills from Angelito and Gonzalez for $125,000, with the sale set for August 21 at the apartment.
Before the deal, a video call was arranged so the buyer could see the product. Angelito showed off the drugs, and a friend of his joined the call to vouch for the operation’s scale.
