In a recent controversial incident, an individual purporting to be a member of the FBI caused a stir on social media by expressing disappointment that the attempted assassination of former President Donald J. Trump at a political rally in Pennsylvania had failed.
The attack, carried out by a gunman, elicited disturbing reactions on social media, with some posts expressing sentiments like “don’t miss next time” and “so close.”
The individual behind these contentious posts was identified as Jenna Howell, who not only expressed disappointment at the unsuccessful attempt but also criticized those who mourned the political violence.
Her post containing comments like “Y’all gun-toting, 2nd Amendment-loving hillbillies better just sit down and stay quiet unless you’re gonna change your mind on gun control” drew further attention and condemnation.
The details regarding how the gunman acquired the firearm used in the attack have not been disclosed by law enforcement authorities.
However, it has come to light that Howell previously worked in the NICS Firearms Background Check Unit, where she assessed individuals’ eligibility to acquire firearms.
Currently, she is reportedly assigned to the FBI’s Identity Research Department.
Former FBI analyst Chris Toompas shed light on his past working relationship with Howell and expressed criticism of her actions.
Toompas revealed that he had worked alongside Howell before his termination due to his refusal to comply with the Covid-19 vaccine mandate.
He went on to say that “The only thing leftists love to do is hate those who disagree with them, and in this instance, wish for their death,” highlighting a contentious environment within the FBI.
Toompas also shared an incident from his own experience wherein he voiced his disdain for the vaccine mandate and shared his suspension story on Facebook during his period of suspension.
Subsequently, Howell allegedly threatened to report him to the FBI for violating its Facebook policy, leading Toompas to ironically comment on this turn of events.
This controversial episode sheds light on anti-Trump sentiments within the FBI. Reports have emerged suggesting that at least one whistleblower has claimed that individuals openly supporting Trump have been forced out from within the Bureau.
Overall, this controversial incident involving Jenna Howell’s social media posts expressing disappointment over the failed assassination attempt against former President Trump has brought attention not only to her actions but also raised concerns about internal dynamics within the FBI and its handling of differing political views among its staff members.
