Farrah Abraham is unable to speak, eat solid food or hear normally out of one ear after undergoing double-disc jaw surgery, according to her manager.
The 35-year-old “Teen Mom” alum had her jaw wired shut following the procedure, which came after months of ongoing jaw problems. The surgery has left her face severely swollen, and she will be limited to liquid meals taken through a straw for the next two months, her manager, Chrissy Johnston, told the Daily Mail.
“Farrah cannot speak because her jaw is wired shut, and her face is extremely swollen. She is in a severe amount of pain and is really struggling, both physically and mentally,” Johnston said. “To make matters worse, she has also lost hearing in her right ear. I hope and pray that her pain eases soon and that her hearing returns to normal over time.”
Abraham appeared on a TikTok livestream hosted by her daughter Sophia shortly after the surgery. Unable to speak, she held up a handwritten sign reading, “I had surgery + can’t talk. Thanks for all the gifts.”
She later posted about her recovery on Instagram Stories, writing, “I feel like Frankenstein right now,” and adding, “Praying my face comes back in three months.”
“She believes the trauma and stress from the assault affected her nervous system and contributed to the damage she has experienced.”
Abraham has dealt with jaw issues throughout the year, and according to Johnston, she believes the problems trace back to trauma connected to a sexual assault case she has pursued. Abraham has accused former Windsor, Calif., Mayor Dominic Foppoli of drugging and sexually assaulting her in Palm Beach, Fla., in March 2021. Foppoli has denied the allegations.
“After everything she has already endured, to now be left in excruciating pain, unable to speak or open her mouth to eat normally for months, is an enormous amount for anyone to endure. She is going through an incredibly difficult time right now,” Johnston said.
Abraham has a long history of cosmetic procedures, including three breast augmentations, a rhinoplasty, a chin implant, butt injections, lip and facial fillers, and a vaginal rejuvenation procedure.
