Former NBA star Dwyane Wade sparked controversy with his remarks during Sunday’s Paris Olympics basketball coverage.

As a commentator for the NBC Olympic broadcast, Wade made what some perceived as inappropriate “pronouns” jokes while calling Team USA’s game against Serbia.

In the first half of the game, Wade raised eyebrows when he referred to LeBron James by saying, “Y’all know his pronouns – he/him!”

Later in the third quarter, he reiterated this comment by stating, “America, you know him as LeBron James. I know him personally. His pronouns are he/him.”

Reports also indicated that Wade made similar remarks about Kevin Durant during the same broadcast.

Following these comments, social media users quickly reacted and started making comments about Wade’s pronoun jokes.
