On Monday evening, a lobbying firm with ties to Senator Mitch McConnell organized a phone call at 8PM ET with Representative Don Bacon (R-NE) in an effort to persuade him to vote in favor of Jim Jordan for House Speaker.
Chairman Jordan needs 217 votes on Tuesday for the speakership, yet 8 RINO holdouts have been refusing to support the congressman.
These representatives include: Mario Díaz-Balart (R-FL), Carlos Gimenez (R-FL), Frank Lucas (R-OK), John Rutherford (R-FL), Mike Simpson (R-ID), Steve Womack (R-AR), and Ken Buck (R-CO).
Rep. Bacon remained resolute on Monday evening and expressed his disapproval of the Republican lawmakers who had removed McCarthy from office.
The folks yelling we need to put out the house fire, started the fire. This started when 4% of Republicans voted to remove Speaker McCarthy. Then, we had another group refuse to support Scalise after he won by our rules. We can’t have a process when a few break the rules.

On Friday, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) was nominated for the GOP position of Speaker of the House by grassroots conservatives and several conservative groups.
This development angered many supporters of former Speaker Kevin McCarthy, who viewed it as a challenge to the Republican establishment.
In response to reports that a challenger would run in Tuesday’s vote for Speaker, Russell Dye, spokesman for Congressman Jordan, provided comment to The Gateway Pundit Sunday evening.
