The announcement of the People’s Cabinet follows a controversial suggestion by Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, who recently floated the idea of forming a shadow government to “guide policy” in the event Trump wins reelection. Rather than respecting democratic institutions and the will of the voters, Democrats now appear to be laying the groundwork for an unelected, unaccountable body designed to delegitimize Trump’s leadership.
