Key members of Congress in the House and Senate are pressing FBI Director Christopher Wray to release unclassified records that allegedly outline a scheme involving then-Vice President Joe Biden and a foreign national.

The public has the right to view these documents, as they are owned by them, yet so far Wray has refused to comply with a Congressional subpoena.

Rep. James Comer (R-Kentucky) and Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) have both issued statements about this situation after their discussion with Wray regarding the production of the records.

Grassley mentioned how it’s suspicious that while the FBI has leaked classified information to media outlets recently, they won’t provide Congress with an unclassified record.

He also said there would be consequences for this failure if Wray doesn’t hand over the FD-1023 form which is required by the subpoena.

Meanwhile, Chairman Comer noted that although Wray had confirmed the existence of this document after initially refusing to acknowledge it, he still hasn’t committed to producing it to Congress as requested by the House Oversight Committee.

As such, Comer stated that proceedings for contempt of Congress will begin should they fail to provide it as per their demand.

This scenario brings back memories from 2012 when Eric Holder was held in contempt of Congress – by a vote of 255–67 – due largely in part because he withheld documents related to an investigation into Fast and Furious uncovered by CBS News reporter Sharyl Attkisson at that time, however nothing happened afterward despite his action being deemed inappropriate and unwarranted.

It remains unclear what exactly is in these unclassified records or what could happen if they’re released but one thing’s certain.

Pressure is mounting on FBI Director Christopher Wray who must soon decide whether or not he’ll turn them over despite his objections thus far.

According to SharrylAtkisson.com

Key members of Congress in the House and Senate are urging FBI Director Christopher Wray to turn over unclassified records “alleging a criminal scheme involving then-Vice President Joe Biden and a foreign national.”

So far, Wray has balked, in defiance of a Congressional subpoena, even though the public owns the records, and the public and Congress have the right to see them.

A whistleblower brought the existence of the documents to the attention of Congress. Rep. James Comer (R-Kentucky) and Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) issued a statement saying Wray has confirmed the documents exist and are real.
