Are Democrats Above the Law?
The latest evidence suggests that the Democratic party may think that they are above the law, and it’s infuriating. Just look at the case of classified documents discovered at an office formerly used by Biden.
The new Republican majority House Speaker Kevin McCarthy was interviewed on Sean Hannity’s show, and he made it clear that Democrats will have to “eat their words” when it comes to the continued outcry over President Trump and the raid on Mar-a-Lago.
McCarthy pointed out that when Hillary Clinton was caught with classified information on an external server at her Chappaqua, New York, home, then-FBI Director James Comey declined prosecution, while former President Donald Trump was subjected to a raid of his Palm Beach, Florida, home after the discovery of classified documents there.
McCarthy noted that Trump’s documents were locked away while Biden’s were “not” and wondered why the FBI wasn’t dispatched to investigate. He further questioned why Biden didn’t bring it up on “60 Minutes” when asked about Trump’s situation.
“They’ve gotten away with so much for so long. This was discovered before the last election – just like the laptop,” he said, noting reports the Biden documents were first discovered Nov. 2, 2022, and the Hunter Biden laptop story broke shortly before the 2020 election.
The Justice Department has appointed John Lausch Jr., a Trump-appointed U.S. attorney for Northern Illinois, to look into the Biden matter, but it’s not enough. It’s clear that Democrats think they are above the law and can lie to the American public without consequence.
The problem is bigger than just this one situation. This entire administration has been filled with scandals, from the coronavirus pandemic to the politicization of federal law enforcement agencies. It’s time for Democrats to be held accountable, and it’s up to the Republican majority to make sure that happens.
At the end of the day, Americans believe in fairness and honesty. We expect our representatives to be honest and to follow the law. It’s time for Democrats to be held to the same standards as everyone else.
