It’s no secret that Democratic megadonor Reid Hoffman has been a major supporter of the party for years. But now, a new report by the Wall Street Journal has raised serious questions about his involvement with the late child sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein.

Hoffman, the co-founder of LinkedIn, allegedly visited Epstein’s private Caribbean island in 2014, as well as his New York City residence, years after Epstein registered as a sex offender for soliciting underage girls.

Hoffman has also been helping to bankroll a rape and defamation lawsuit against former president Donald Trump, and has donated $1.5 million to a super PAC supporting President Joe Biden.

It’s clear that Hoffman’s financial support of the Democratic party is substantial, and his involvement with the Trump lawsuit is troubling, especially given his ties to Epstein. Hoffman has admitted that by associating himself with Epstein, he “helped his reputation, and thus delayed justice for his survivors.”

The revelations about Hoffman’s involvement with Epstein are particularly concerning in light of the fact that numerous business leaders, academics, and politicians continued to associate with Epstein even after his sex crimes were publicly known. This includes CIA director William Burns, who met with Epstein three times in 2014.

The question now is: why did Hoffman continue to associate with Epstein even after the truth about his crimes was out? Hoffman has not responded to questions about whether he has funded any of the sexual abuse lawsuits filed against Epstein.

What’s more, Hoffman has funded several controversial political operations on behalf of the Democratic party. In 2017, he funded a tech firm that created fake online personas to pressure conservatives not to vote in the Alabama special election. He has funded ACRONYM, the group behind a network of partisan news sites disguised to look like legitimate local news organizations.

He donated $2 million to Integrity First for America, a legal advocacy group that gave $620,000 to a legal defense fund for Fusion GPS, the opposition research firm behind the infamous Steele dossier.

Given the sheer scope of Hoffman’s financial support of the Democratic party and his involvement with Epstein, it’s hard not to be skeptical of his motives. It’s also hard not to question his commitment to justice, especially given his refusal to answer questions about whether he has funded any of the sexual abuse lawsuits filed against Epstein.

Hoffman’s silence speaks volumes, and it raises serious doubts about his ethical standards and his commitment to rooting out political corruption.
