A DC jury has ruled that Rudy Giuliani must pay plaintiffs Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss a total of $148 MILLION in their lawsuit against him for defamation, following his claims that the two women had contributed to voter fraud in Georgia’s 2020 election.

On Thursday, attorneys for Ruby Freeman requested that the jury award each plaintiff $24 million plus compensation for emotional distress and punitive damages.
Additionally, the jury granted an additional $100 million to Ruby and Shaye’s demand.

WASHINGTON — A jury awarded two former Georgia election workers $148 million in damages Thursday in their defamation suit against former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani.
Jurors deliberated for a day-and-a-half before awarding Ruby Freeman and her daughter Wandrea “Shaye” Moss $73 million in compensatory damages and $75 million in punitive damages for defamation and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
On Wednesday, Ruby Freeman testified that she received various threats in response to Rudy Giuliani’s statements and social media posts following the 2020 Presidential Election.
Attorneys played audio recordings and displayed images of messages during her testimony which demonstrated how fearful she was of the repercussions after the January 6 protests in Washington D.C.
Moreover, attorneys revealed a recording of President Trump instructing Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to investigate “Where’s Ruby?” as it was trending at the time.
This attempted link between Giuliani and President Trump’s attempts to uncover voter fraud in the 2020 election with regards to events on January 6th 2021 could prove detrimental for Rudy Giuliani given his standing trial in front of a jury largely opposed to Donald Trump.
In August, Obama-appointed Judge Beryl Howell declared that Rudy Giuliani was liable for defaming Ruby and Shaye due to an apparent delay in producing relevant evidence requested by their attorneys.
However, it later came out that investigators were holding on to information pertaining to this case against Giuliani which could not be produced until more recently.
The jury has now been instructed to deliberate over an appropriate dollar amount for damages owed by Rudy Giuliani towards Freeman and Shaye, based upon what they have heard throughout his trial thus far.
Giuliani told reporters after day three of the trial that the truth would come “very, very shortly,” and he was expected to testify on Thursday.
However, the Defense rested its case on Thursday after deciding not to call Giuliani to the stand. Giuliani is expected to appeal the case.

Prior to the jury’s entrance for closing arguments on Thursday morning, Ruby and Shaye were seen snickering, laughing, and conversing.
From this reporter’s perspective, it appeared as though they were having a good time. In addition, Shaye even glanced back at the audience with a wide grin on her face.
Once the jury was present during closing arguments, however, their expressions shifted to one of anger; furthermore, Shaye seemed to be wiping away tears and fanning her visage with a tissue.
