The liberal media is at it again! Last Monday, late night comedians like Stephen Colbert tried to downplay the Wall Street Journal’s reporting that the Department of Energy has concluded that the COVID-19 pandemic began as a lab leak. Colbert, and many others, dismissed it due to the DOE having “low confidence” in its conclusion.
Stephen Colbert, host of The Late Show, mocked the Department of Energy’s opinion:
“Now, if like me, you’re wondering why the Department of Energy is the one making this judgement, it’s because that agency oversees a network of U.S. national laboratories, some of which conduct advanced biological research. No. No! Bad Energy Department. No bio labs until you finish building your electric car charging stations!
Stay in your lane! You don’t see… You don’t see… You don’t see… You don’t see the Census Bureau building nukes. But whatever. Who am I to say? They are the Energy Department, I’m sure they’re smart. They wouldn’t release these findings unless they were absolutely confident — what’s that? They made their judgment with “low confidence.”
It’s clear that Colbert, and his ilk, don’t take the Department of Energy’s opinion seriously. They are so desperate to maintain their own narrative that they will ignore the facts. The reality is that the DOE isn’t the only agency to suggest that the pandemic began as a lab leak. Four other agencies and a national intelligence panel also judge that the pandemic was likely the result of a lab leak, with the FBI having “moderate confidence” in the conclusion.
It’s time for the liberal media to stop downplaying the lab leak hypothesis. They need to stop ignoring the facts and accept the reality that the pandemic was likely caused by a lab leak. The liberal media needs to stop trying to push their own narrative, and instead focus on the facts. The Department of Energy, along with other agencies, have all concluded that the pandemic was likely caused by a lab leak, and the liberal media needs to take this seriously.
It’s time for the liberal media to stay in their lane and stop downplaying the lab leak hypothesis. They need to stop ignoring the facts and accept the reality that the pandemic was likely caused by a lab leak. The liberal media needs to stop trying to push their own narrative and focus on the facts. It’s time to stop downplaying the lab leak hypothesis and accept the truth.
